Readout Options
« on: 2019 October 08 11:09:27 »
Hi all,
greetings to all forum members.
I need some information about the configuration of 'Readout Options' menĂ¹ in Pixinsight  :
1) I want to see the ADU value of pixels for one image.
In this case is it correct to set  the value of 'Readout Options' -> 'Integer Range' to 16 Bit ?
2) I want to identifiy the correct value of to use in Upper Limit (in Background Neutralization module). What type of configuration must to set inside the 'Readout Opionions' menĂ¹ ?
Many Thanks
BR
Dimitri

if your camera produces 16-bit tiff files and has a 16-bit ADC, then you should use integer 16 bit as the readout mode.

most, if not all PI tools expect a normalized floating point number, so for BN you should have the readout cursor set to one of the normalized real modes. i usually just run my mouse around the background and try to find what looks like the highest number in either the R, B or G channels to set the BN upper limit. but you can also define a preview over part of the background and then use the Statistics process to see what the max values are.
