Pixinsight crashes on star alignment process

Hi.  Brand new to Pixinsight processing and am trying to learn by following some youtube tutorials.  I got to the point where I am using the Star Alignment process and after it starts, my screens turn black and when they come back, Pixinsight is closed.  When the process starts, it does start doing some things and goes for about 15 seconds before crashing.  I'm really not sure where to go from here and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike,

We cannot reproduce this problem on any platform.

StarAlignment, especially the new version in PixInsight 1.8.7 when distortion correction is enabled, is an extremely processor-intensive tool. If your computer has cooling issues or memory access problems, this can cause erratic behavior. We already have seen these things happen, especially on laptops with heat dissipation issues. Can you share some details about your hardware?
