Hello,
I haven't used the CloneStamp tool much in the past, but since acquiring a mono camera and filters, I'm finding that some filters(Sulphur, for example), create halos around bright stars. I decided to use the clone stamp process and clone out the problematic halos using one of the other filters.
However, I am finding that the tool either doesn't work at all or that it works intermittently even though I follow the same procedure. Sometimes it works in reverse(cloning from the intended target image to source).
I'm wondering if this is a problem with the Mac OS or my particular machine(I've tried in on my iMac and MacbookPro with similar results), or possibly I'm just a numbskull misusing it, but it seems straightforward to use, at least according to the directions below.
Here is the procedure I follow(taken from another Pixinsight thread).
Open both images and place them side to side, so you can watch what happens on both at the same time.
- Open the CloneStamp tool.
- Click on the target image once to select it (the image you want to apply clone stamp to).
- Cmd+Click on the other image, on the source location. From now on this is the source image.
- Click on the target image and drag the cursor. This will clone source image pixels over target image pixels as you drag the cursor.
- You can Cmd+click on the source or target images at any time, to change the source location and/or image. Note that you can have many source images, not just only one. There is no specific limit.
