Dark frames for an ASI294MC Pro.
« on: 2019 September 04 04:16:42 »
I've just purchased an ASI294MC Pro (OSC) and I'm please with the images, in fact better than I was expecting from an OSC. I do have a problem though in getting dark frames to eliminate the amp glow. I'm matching exposure length and temperature for the dark subs and following Warren Keller's dark frame integration routine to create the master darks.

Any comments on 'how to' remove these amp glow spikes gratefully received.

Do not check Optimize and Calibrate master dark when integrating, also do not use bias

Many thanks - Tried this and the amp glow disappeared. Turned out to be the checking the optimisation box that caused the problems. Checking the Calibration box on its own didn't cause the amp glow to show. I did use a bias master.

Image attached is just 4x 180s subs to try things out.

Glad it helped.
If you uncheck Optimize, your MasterBias won't be used either, so you can just skip it.

Also, with this CMOS sensor using BIAS frames is not recommended. Instead use DarkFlatFrames to calibrate your Flats and just a MasterDark to calibrate your lights
