Problem with app size; New Computer 32 inch 4K Monitor
« on: 2019 August 14 11:07:27 »
I just replaced my 9 year old Intel i7 (first gen) computer with the following;
Intel i9-9900KF, 32 GigaByte memory
GigaByte GTX 1660 w/6GB video memory
LG 32 inch 4K monitor
2GB SSD's
Windows 10-Pro

Settings:
Win 10 Display Settings set to 150% for font/app size
Display Resolution set to 3840x2160 Land Scape

LG Drivers state installed, but no sign that any LG device is recognized.

Problem:
Desk top icons seem normal in size. A little fuzzy, not as sharp as I remember.
PI icons seem a little smaller. Pref.../Default Image Rez set to 72. Otherwise, PI seems normal (much faster now)

Also, if you would like to address the following. Photoshop CS5 x64 fills the screen, but icons/text are very small.

Any ideas on to fine tuning the display, would be appreciated.
Have been using PI for little over 2 years.

Thank You; Phillip

For PixInsight, take a look at the Core UI Resources page under Global Preferences.  Increasing the UI scaling factor will increase the size of title bars, menus, etc.  I usually use 1.5 for my high DPI displays, but I like smallish text.  If you want larger items, try 2.0.  I believe that you have to apply the change and restart PixInsight to see it.

As for Photoshop CS5, I just migrated my stuff to a new laptop.  The following article addressed the issue that you describe for me (I also use CS5):

I hope that this helps,
