New Mac activation problem
« on: 2019 August 25 11:52:51 »
I have been using PixInsight on a MacBook Pro for a couple of years.  I just upgraded the computer and I am trying to activate PixInsight.

I have tried several times and have gone back to the original e-mail to get the user identification and activation code.  However, each time I try it I am told

Authentication error,  Server response: 'INVALID AUTHORIZATION CODE'.
Mac OS is 10.14.5, Pixinsight version 1.8.6

Help??

Thanks

I think you have to apply for a new activation code, see this announcement

you should just be able to copy over the license file from the old machine to the new.

i think how this works is you get an auth code, and that generates a license file, and then the auth code is invalid from that point on. however, the license file can be copied to whatever computers you are using, so you don't need to go thru the reauthorization step. of course that implies that you have a license file that was generated with 1.8.6 or later as shown in dave's link.

I read Dave's post first and did that before reading Rob's.  I now understand how the licensing works and will copy the licensing file if I need to.

Thanks,
