STAR ALIGNMENT PROCESS

I presume the star alignment process is part of the image integration tool suite. but I am not sure what the relevance is? Is star alignment tool for stacking and aligning? If so, isn't that what image integration already does?

Workflow is

Image Calibration  (Bias,Darks, Flats and all that guff)
Debayer (for DSLR or OSC)
Star Alignment (Aligns each image to the master as they all do move around a bit [differential flexure, dither])
Stack em

I still do it all longhand as I like to see the results from each stage.
