Scaling issue at startup on macOS
« on: 2019 January 26 19:39:38 »
This is not a new issue, I just ... finally got around to taking a screen shot and reporting it.

The scaling issue seen in the attachment happens *only* when I also have an external monitor connected to my MacBook Pro. Note that it is *only* the splash screen that has this issue,.

I run the MacBook Pro screen (which is where this is happening) in 1920x1200 HiDPI mode, for what it is worth (using QuickRes).

This is a known bug in Qt versions older than 5.12.0. The current macOS version of PixInsight is still using Qt 5.11.3 because of other Qt bugs.

The workarounds I have implemented in PixInsight 1.8.6 don't always work under nonstandard screen resolutions. Since this only affects the splash screen, which is a non-critical component (you can disable it via Preferences), this problem is tagged as low-priority. It should be fixed when we manage to integrate a 5.12.x version of Qt with the macOS version of PixInsight 1.8.6.
