Star Core Artefacts from LRGBCombine.
« on: 2018 October 20 03:35:52 »
Can anyone advise on what might be the solution to the artefact seen in the attached image. It occurs on the brighter stars when I use LRGBcombine to combine RGB data. Although the deconvolution tool is open this has not been applied at this stage. Many thanks. John

I have experienced this too. It appears to have several possible origins, including a misfit in the star sizes among the LRGB subs. I'm not sure of the best way to fix that problem, but another cause is discussed, and remediated, here: https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=5149.0

Good luck

Thank you Alex. That script does look promising.  :)
