Program Won't Open

Hey Juan, Sorry as I'm sure some things are difficult to replicate. On my Windows 10 PC, more and more, the latest version won't open. Click the icon, and nada. The PC must be rebooted to restore it. FWIW, the New Instance version always opens just fine, but the primary instance has my customized workspace. Let me know if I can provide anything further. Thanks!

It sometimes happens to me where the previous instance hasn't shut down properly.  The window closes but I can still see PixInsight.exe running as a process from Task Manager.   I then can't start PI again until I have killed the previous one using Task Manager.

If you process your images with PI, then close PI by clicking on the "X" at the upper right and later re-started PI, I get the exact same thing and PI would not restart ever again. You can kill PI process via Task Manager like Mark said and restart PI again.

The easiest and reliable solution is to close PI by using "File->Exit" pull-down menu instead of clicking on the "X" at upper right. Restarting PI works for me every time after that.

Pixinsight won't open for me at the moment.

I don't want to restart PC because I'm currently doing a full back-up and I have several TB of data that I am backing up (usually takes several days!)
Guess I will have to be patient! :-(

Did you take the advice earlier in this thread to use Task Manager to look for and delete a PixInsight instance running in the background?
