Question about Drizzle Integration.
« on: 2018 October 03 04:51:10 »
Lets say I have integrated 200 subs, the used drizzle integration, but I decide later to reject a few of the subs. Do I have to re-run integration, or can I just re-do the drizzle and omit the rejected subs.

I ask because I don’t know how reliant drizzle is on a previous run of integration. It’s just a time saver, especially if there are a few hundred subs to re-do.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

You'll get slightly different results depending on which approach you take but if it is a small percentage of a large number of subs that you're rejecting then only rerunning the DrizzleIntegration should work fine.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick,

After reading your reply I just realized I could have tested that by doing both and subtracting one result from the other Doh!

So it does make a difference, I will in that case re-do integration as I am always after the best result.

Mike

It will make a difference, Mike, because normalization and pixel rejection are based on statistics calculated for the whole stack.  If you remove a couple of subs then that will change the result but it may not be terribly noticeable.

Cheers,
Rick.
