Shot two targets last night. Calibrated both sets together, Debay, Subframe  together. All results in.xsif. Allgood. Align integration, and drizzle first set, all good. M8 @ https://astrob.in/354561/0/. I go to align second set from Subframe folder and all align shots converted to grey scale in align folder.? Restarted computer, PI updated. with same greyscale results.

Any ideals?

Hi Pfile. I didn't use BPP. I use the Cal, Debay, and subframe one at a time process both sets of data with same super bias, Mst flats, and Mst darks. Only when I go to align the second run, (different target), does a RGB (verified), file get converted to gray scale. What is CFA, where is it and where and when is it set to what?

Thanks, PJM

CFA means color filter array - which is a bayer matrix. in the BPP script there's a checkbox marked CFA which you use to tell the script that it should debayer after calibration.

but since you are doing everything manually, then i guess you must have accidentally selected the calibrated but undebayered images when you ran StarAlignment the second time. i don't think StarAlignment is capable of changing a file from RGB to greyscale. all it can do is change the bit depth of a file and by default it sets the output bit depth to whatever the input bit depth is. so it seems to me the input files to StarAlignment must be wrong despite you saying that the input files are verified RGB. what happens if you double click on one of the target files in the StarAlignment process? does the file that gets opened look like one of the right ones?

Near as I can find out it seems that I may have done the monkey thang and somehow separated the r channel by aligning an already aligned set...?? OR >:D >:D >:D.Whateva... Threw every thang out, started over, works O:)

Thanks for the help!
