Binning
« on: 2018 July 17 23:42:31 »
Hello,
I own a 150/750 Newton telescope, and a 1600mmc ZWO camera. I take my raw images with a resolution of 2 ", so in bin x2.
As on CMOS cameras binning is soft, I ask myself this question:
Is not it better to take photos with a resolution of 1 ", then to do binning during preprocessing with 'star-alignment' If so which algorithm should I use.
Regards

Hello,

To answer your question, if you've captured 15 or more sub-frames of each colour channel that were dithered, you can use drizzle integration to increase the resolution somewhat.
