Filename icons desappered after update to 01.08.05.1353
« on: 2017 October 21 05:58:59 »
Since I have updated PI to version  01.08.05.1353 on two different computers (de-installed the old and re-installed the new version) the "blue PI icons" which are normally shown with the .xisf filenames (a.e. if you chose File-> Open to select files  or in the windows explorer) are gone . This happens after I opened and closed PI a few times.

Not sure if this was already reported .

A few times  ;). Use the search function.

I think it is related to letting PI launch an instance from the installer (which is a really bad idea), but I'm not sure.

Agreed. The Windows installer packages won't include an option to launch the application since the next version.

Thanks guys,

I de- and re-installed it, and did not launching PI direct from the installer app,  for now it seems to work well.

The problem happens from time to time, even after fresh PI installation Win 7/64 Bit .

I found a workaround to manually set the PI desktop Icon path ( https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=11380.0 )

Is there any workaround to set / repair the PI filename icons also ?
