BPP and cosmetic correction with mixed binning
« on: 2018 May 14 07:38:26 »
I was trying to get a handle on the Batch Preprocessing script using cosmetic correction when I have sub frames with mixed binning.

As an example I have Lum frames binned at 1x1 and a set of RGB binned at 2x2.

Yet the BPP script utilizes a single process icon, that single process icon only uses one master dark. So one has to choose either a master dark binned at 1x1 or 2x2.

How does that work or am I mis-understanding something?

You'll need to run BPP twice with different CosmeticCorrection icons.

Really?

So I need to run BPP for the 1x1 frames, then again for the 2x2 frames?

Almost need to forgo BPP and do it all from scratch.

I can't think of a simple alternative if you're going to reference a master dark in CosmeticCorrection.  It's not that great a hardship, surely?  If you really find it that annoying then don't bin the RGB.  There's no benefit unless your subs are so short as to be read noise limited...

Cheers,
Rick.

Nah its not really a hardship. It is just that everything else is nicely configured to handle multiple binning configurations ... except CC.
