Using cloud computing with Pixinsight
« on: 2018 May 17 14:06:46 »
My home PC (or laptop) are both rather long in the tooth and can take hours to process images.  So I was thinking about utilising some hefty compute resources from my Azure subscription :).   Now obviously I can just create a VM and install pixinsight to it and run it like a normal computer, however for the sort of size VM I have in mind that is relatively expensive so I was thinking about using Batch computing to get access to the "Low Priority" pricing tier since the Pixinsight workflow is the sort of thing that can tolerate being interrupted.

Has anyone here tried this before?

Hi,

I have not experience on the subject. However, this thread, https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=7192 has some info on how to use Amazon's EC2.
