Imo, no, not needed. Use approprate noise reduction when noise starts to become a problem, ie when it becomes visually annoying. Eg, in the linear state you can use tgvdenoise or mlt. In the nonlinear stage, tgvdenoise, mmt, acdnr.
I normally use nr in lab mode, and not ad rgb. This way I can target luminance noise and chrominance noise more precisely.
