Logon Error
« on: 2017 February 09 08:37:03 »
I have a computer on which I had installed PI quite some time ago and have since been using a different computer.  I tried to open PI today and I get "No such user identifier".  I have no such problems on the other computer.  Can anyone tell me how to proceed?

Please disregard this request.  I have since discovered there is an internet access problem that I need to resolve.

So I'm getting this same error and unfortunately this thread doesn't contain a solution, so hopefully re-posting will get an answer on how to resolve.  There's no detail to the error message to help guide on how to solve it, and it doesn't take you any further to allow attempting to re-enter any information.  This is occurring on my observatory PC that I'd been using with no problems previously.  It should be running the license key generated on my desktop machine where I do my final processing.  My interpretation from this post and the message is that it's trying to connect to the PixInsight server and do something.  Unfortunately there's no way to tell what it's trying to do.  It's also on my remote observatory where internet access is already limited.

Thanks for any guidance,

Beo

And it looks like I can now answer my own question as well.  I had put a new license file on this machine, and left PI running for a long time, but it turns out it wasn't my purchased license file!  So when I went back and checked, they were a month apart and it told me I had to install the purchased version instead of the trial!   :P
