Set PI Default Working Directory
« on: 2017 November 03 13:05:34 »
I do all of my image processing on a PCI Express 3 SSD.  Can I set PI to default to this location?

meaning, for swap files? if so, yes, you can set the swap file folder in the global preferences...

I have swap on another M.2 card.  When I process an image I move my Lights, Darks, Flats and BIAS to the PCIe card for processing.  I would like PI to default to this SSD when starting up.

My question is an allied one - is there a way I can tell PI to use a common working directory as the place to find files? It seems I have to specify the folder location in each menu, which is tedious.

i have never looked into this, so i can't say if either is possible. but at least on OSX the finder keeps a list of the most recently used directories in the native open file dialog, so as long as i specify a directory once, it's available to me in the drop down menu after that.

i guess windows is different?
