Pixinsight Reloaded Tutorial Question - Deconvolution

Hi,

In the tut on Deconvolution it recommends to use stars with an amplitude between .3 and .7. I'm imaging with a C11 Edge and an ASI1600 MM-Cooled camera. This gives me an image scale of about .28 arcsec/px. My star amplitudes are around .04 - .02 for average non-saturated stars with this combo. What amplitudes should I be aiming for at this image scale?

Here's some advice from Juan on using DynamicPSF: https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=3261.msg22440#msg22440

He recommends using stars that aren't too dim and with an amplitude less than 0.3 or 0.5.  I generally use mid sized stars with an amplitude less than 0.3 and have been happy with the results.

Hi General and Rick, Juan states there that Ideally, A should not be larger than 0.3 or 0.5. The tool documentation states the bottom line "Use only moderately bright, average stars, and avoid saturated stars, too bright and too dim stars." Generally, that's in the 0.3-0.8 range for a lot of data I work with. Rick, if what you see is .04-.02, then obviously use what you have. Our respective imaging scales aren't necessarily a function of the amplitude/brightness of our stars.
