Update process faled (after upgrade to 1.8.5)

Hi all,
I've successfully upgraded pixinsight to 1.08.05. (With CXXABI_1.3.8 problem, solved with export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./PixInsight/bin/lib solution). OS is Ubuntu 14.04, regularly updated.
After launch, it reports 5 updates available. As usual, PI downloads (5) updates, after exit it asks to install the updates BUT, after restart it says "update process failed", and shows nothing in update LOG.

Any advice?

This problem is easily solved by installing GCC 4.9 or later, or by simply creating a symbolic link. See my answer in this thread:

Let me know if this helps. Obviously, another solution is upgrading from Ubuntu 14 to the latest version, but you already know this
