bring two images together

I need some guidance here. I have an image of the sky showing the stars all perfect.
I also have another image of the same part of the sky but with an image of a comet that I tracked.
The two images can't be put together because of the tracking of the stars being different than the comet.
How do have that beautiful comet sit in the middle of the beautiful sky with alll those nice stars.
Must be a way.
Thanks for any guidance.

There was a thread recently about this. It may help you too.

Just a reminder...when an image of a moving comet is imposed on a untrailed star field, the result is a physically impossible image. Escher would be proud!
But like an Escher, the result can be aesthetically positive.
