Problem with StarAlignement
« on: 2017 February 10 08:41:22 »
Hi All
Got my new dual xeon up and running and it really makes using PI so much more friendly !

However I've been trying to process a new set of images. They look to have pretty good stars but StarAlignment is just not finding matches. I've also noticed something a bit odd. I have 14 images in the stack. When I run the process the result reports 5 succeeded and 18 failed which is 23 images total. How come it's reporting more images than I am actually using ? Is this something to do with have 24 cores (6 per processor + hyperthreading)

Thanks

Tim

I noticed this too. I think it's counting failures twice

That would make sense. Still wondering why I'm getting so many failures on this data set though as the images are visually pretty good with nice distinct stars on well guided frames.

This is a small bug in the latest implementation of the SA tool. It is completely innocuous of course, just a mistake in the way the count is being written to the console.

The other problems you are reporting are not reproducible. Nothing can be said without inspecting the original images.
