Calibrate color using known spectral class of stars
« on: 2017 March 09 22:14:02 »
Hi, i have been using PI for a couple of years now - and each time I am using the color calibration tool, I think to my self - why isn't there any tool that you can sample the color of known stars.
Maybe there is such a tool (haven't found it though)
Maybe it is to complex to use?

Wouldn't it be nice to platesolve the image - chose one or several stars and hit the execute button  :D

Just speaking out loud.

/Daniel

This may be what you are looking for: http://bf-astro.com/excalibrator/excalibrator.htm

My typical LRGB workflow with PI includes doing a "standard" PI ColorCalibration and an eXcalibrator calibration (using ColorCalibration with the RGB coefficients from eXcalibrator) then deciding which one I like better.  Sometimes I blend the two.

Cheers,
Rick.
