Sony A7RII
« on: 2017 May 12 14:07:51 »
Hi Guys,

Need some help using the Batch PreProcessing script, cant seem to get my Sony A7RII ARW files to work, I select CFA but just get errors.

I have no problem with my ASI-1600mm-c but sometimes I like to do some widefield with a DSLR.
Should I be changing some other settings, I did try to find out the Sony A7RII bayer pattern and could only find RBGW?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I did a quick Forum Search (see the top-right of this page) for " sony a7 raw" and some other Froum members have already discussed this camera on the Forum. You might want to repeat the search - and further refine/modify it for yourself to see what previous discussions have taken place.

Further - and I have no direct experience with the camera in question, so you will have to digest the information yourself - these has also been a discussion in the last few days about extensions to the DeBayer Process used within PixInsight. Again, you might find that you are being troubled with the issues discussed in that thread:

Thanks for the reply Niall,

I did do a search before asking the question but cant find anything on the A7RII, yes on A7r, A7, A7S but the A7RII has a backlight chip and from what I have read a different Bayer pattern RGBW.

I mainly use Pixinsight for the ASI1600mm-c but would like to be able to use it for my widefield Astro.

I am not familiar at all with backlit imagers, however others may be better acquainted with these. And, Juan may have pertinent information on the RGBW CFA and whether any future release of PixInsight will offer support for this.
