Printing from within the PI Script Editor
« on: 2009 March 28 09:23:00 »
Hi all,

Is there any way to print from within the Script Editor window?

If there is, does it also maintain the coloured highlighting?

Cheers,

Hi Niall,

Unfortunately, Script Editor's printing features are broken in versions 1.4.x. This was a serious regression that has of course been fixed in version 1.5, which I'm finishing right now. It should be ready for release within two weeks.

With version 1.5, you can either print or export as a PDF preserving all of the syntax highlighting features, including text colors and styles.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

BTW, should I deduce from this question that you are working in some PixInsight script(s) ?  :?:

Hi Juan,

Thanks for the update and reply.

Yes, very much so - I am 'deep into' a deBayering script for the Meade DSI-IIC OSC camera - which, of course, relies on a CYMG CFA - unlike the more recent imagers, which use RGBG or even RGBL arrays.

I have tested all of the deBayer routines that I could find, and none of them seem to 'work right' - so, of course, when that happens the usual recourse is that the 'wheel' has to be 'reinvented'.

Naturally, it has been 'difficult' because, first of all, I had to 'reverse engineer' the various scripts supplied with PixInsight, in order to be able to learn how to write my own script.

Never mind - I like a challenge (this is what I do as a 'day job' - I fix, to component level, electronic systems - most of which have no circuit diagram information, requiring that the PCB be 'traced out' first, then the circuit has to be analysed to figure out what it was 'supposed' to be doing, before finally finding out what had gone wrong, and developing a test routine to prove that the repairs have been successful)

It is sort of like doing a crossword puzzle, where there are NO clues given, and where the black squares have not been shown - yet only ONE solution is allowed !!!!

However, as soon as I get the script to the 'next stage' I will submit it for you, and everybody else of course, to consider.

Cheers,
