Use of STF context Menu
« on: 2009 March 22 06:11:59 »
Hi,

I am not sure if this works as designed (i.e. is a user error), or a bug.

-  The context menu "Screen Transfer Functions" has entries "Copy to Active Window" and "Copy to all Active Views".

- I never saw an effect for "Copy to Active Window". No window changed its appearance. The active window usually is the one which activates the context menue, so this is expected but useless. What is the sequence of actions required for it to do something useful?

- "Copy to all Active Views" does indeed what it promisses. However, I think it should restrict operation to the current workspace. The way I use workspaces is to do different projects on each of them, so this copy is really not what I would like to see.

Let me know whats wrong here.

Keep up the good work!

Georg

Hi Georg,

"Copy to Active Window" means "Copy to all views of the active window". If you have several previews defined in a window, then this option allows you to set the same STF for all of them, along with the window's main view, in a single operation. Yes, it's confusing, I see :)

Good point. The upcoming version 1.5 comes with new items under the Workspace main menu entry. For example, Workspace > Close All allows you to close all images in the current workspace (as opposed to File > Close All, which closes all images in all workspaces). I'll add a similar function to limit STF propagation to the current workspace. Thanks for the idea ;)

Thank you!
