Hey folks,
After years of shooting RGBs and building synlums, I am finally going home to LRGB imaging, at least for galaxies. After lots of reflection, I came to the conclusion that RGBs (and the NB equivalents) are fine for nebulosity and star fields, but for complex galaxies, you really do need those luminance frames. Here is the results of going home:
http://astrob.in/271200/0/Very happy with the detail and, as compared to my RGB stack, the IFN was much clearer in the Lum set as well, though I wasn't intending to emphasize that this time around.
