Invalid Memory read operation
« on: 2016 October 11 04:50:03 »
hi guys

Am on PI version 1.08.04.1195 on windows 10, a recent reinstall after replacing a laptop. I am getting this type of error pretty much all the time. See attached.
Any ideas?

If your new laptop is a Dell, search the forum for more information of the problem of the latest PixInsight versions in Dell computers.

Thanks

Found the thread. Interesting as this is a Dell XPS 15" with a touch screen..ho hum. Deselected native dialogue in preferences as suggested and so far it seems ok. cheers

I also experience frequently the same invalid memory crash with my MSI laptop Model MS-16H7 with PI version 01.08.04.1195 Ripley (x64).  Any suggestion to fix this?  Same way like Edit - Global Perferences - File I/O Settings - Use native file dialogs (Disable)?

I am still getting this error message after I change the setting.  It happens when I take the the triangle instance and overwrite an icon.
