PI freezes when opening History Explorer
« on: 2016 September 14 06:41:49 »
Hi,

I've been having this problem with the last couple releases. When I work with one or two 32-bit FITS images and mouse over History Explorer, PI freezes/deadlocks with process CPU usage at ~34%. The RAM allocation keeps increasing. It doesn't recover and needs to be shut down. If the history is short (just a couple processes), the problem isn't reproducible but after some processes (4-6?) I don't even dare use History Explorer.

Using Win10, Latest PI version 01.08.04.1195. Quad-core I5-6600K, 24GB RAM.

Let me know if/how I can provide logs or some such.

Hi,

any chance of this getting fixed? It's really gimping my work flow and it's not something I expect in a software of this caliber.

cheers,
Kharan

Hi Kharan,

I am unable to reproduce this problem on any of our working and testing machines, on any platform. It hasn't been reported before, AFAIK. I have no way to fix a non-trivial problem that I cannot reproduce and understand.

I am working right now on a new version of the core application, which uses new versions of our supporting software tools. Let's hope it will fix these weird behaviors on some machines...
