Customizing toolbar - Curves / Histogram Transformation
« on: 2016 September 20 07:03:56 »
How can I add the curves / Histogram transformation process icons to the toolbar at the top?  Thanks!

Hi, if I understand correctly, what you say I believe cannot be done. You can access Histogram Transformation tool and Curves Transformation tool from the Menu > PROCESS or from the Process Explorer.
On Process Explorer you have both in Favorites by defalut.
Hope this helps
Saludos, Alejandro.

One thing you can do is set up all the icons you want on the screen to the right as I show in the attached image.  All you need to do is shrink the icons, rather than close them when done, then put them where you want them on the workspace.  You can even then go ahead and save your set up as a project and load it up each time you start and it will be just like you set it up the first time.

Hope that helps,

Jim

Jim

You can also save the set of icons as a single icon, then have that single icon open automatically when PI starts. You don't have to load a project to do this.

You simply add a line to the PI startup script. Here is what mine looks like.

#endif   // !__NO_PJSR_VARIABLES

.open "c:\Program Files\PixInsight\MyIcons\Startup.xpsm"

// ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
// 2015/11/08 18:21:32 UTC
// etc/startup/startup.scp

Thanks, I've been using my own icons in that fashion.  It would be neat though if we could put that in a customized toolbar but that's ok I'm fine with this.  I prefer the icons on the right than keeping the favourite window open all the time that's for sure.

Thanks Mike, I created a new text file called it Icons and added that to the etc/startup/ directory this way the start up script is not affected if PI does any updates to it.  You have to save the file elsewhere first or play with windows permissions to get the file to save in that directory.

Cheers everyone!  I love PI :)

For even more capability, you can right click the minimized (non-iconed) images and select "Visible on all workspaces". This lets you have quick access to the processes you want no matter what workspace you are on.

There is a caveat that I've found though - real-time previews seem to prefer opening only on the first workspace the process was started on.
