System Parameters settings in Subframe Selector
« on: 2016 September 09 12:49:42 »
I'm using DSLR cameras, the Canon 7D Mk II and the Canon 1DX Mk II.  How do I determine what to use for Subframe scale and Camera gain?

Set them both to 1, set Scale unit to pixels, and set Data unit to Data Numbers. All measurements will then be in pixels or DN as appropriate.

The options are just for convenience, and if known, you can display measurements in arcsec rather than pixels and/or electrons rather than DN.

I've seen his reviews, but as I haven't used CCD astro cameras, I don't know how the various forms of noise equate.  I know questions have been raised about using darks with DSLRs.
