Cannot solve images anymore
« on: 2016 July 17 08:00:48 »
Hello there !

I used to solve my images right after integration, to be able to produce an annotated version. It worked great, but on my last 3 projects, I haven't been able to make it work... I don't understand why because my setup and my settings are pretty much the same. I am tryong to solve an image of M27, which was taken last night with a Canon EOS 1100d on a 150x750 Newtonian scope.

Here are my settings:

If anyone has an idea why... Thanks in advance.

Turning the FL and Pixel Ratio gets you there.
Find in the links above 2 examples. Kept the Resolution+at 5.5 arcsec p Pixel.

In your case i would start to try on the original with pixelsize 3.0 and Fl 745 mm.

Maybe you did some resample of your original Image or the focal length of the scope
is not 750mm.

Oh I think I understand! There was a drizzle x2 applied to the integration result. Does it mean I have to change solver settings?

O.k. it is clear.
"2x Drizzle gets you four times the pixel of the original in total
and in each axis 2x times. Means your camera has instead of
2000 pixel width now a width of 4000 pixel width, what results
clearly in virtually "smaller" pixels,
So the working input for the solver should be around 2.6 Pixel size
and 750mm FL.
