Maximized Real-Time Preview Problem
« on: 2015 August 16 07:36:40 »
I reported this earlier with no response.

I don't know if this is a bug or there is a technique to use, but when I maximize a real-time preview, the top bar of the preview window disappears above the tool bar and I can not get to it to reduce to access the bar at the top of the real-time preview window to move or close the preview.   Is this a behavior of my screen resolution and something I will have to live with or can anyone duplicate this problem?

Larry,

I cannot reproduce this problem on any platform. Are you sure you don't get the close and normalize tool buttons at the top right corner of PI's main window when you maximize R-T? Can you post a screenshot?

See attached screen print.  Let me know if this is too small.

I can't get the tool bar too. Ctrl-W/Ctrl-T and  maximized have no effect .

Hi Larry!
Can get similar behavior under Windows. (so, i think it is a little bug).

When i move the RTPreview window upwards until the blue top bar of RTPPreview disappears
under the main PI window get a vertical sliding bar at the right side to move it back.
But, when i let the cursor in the top area of the PI toolbar for some seconds suddenly this
vertical slider bar disappears und i cant get it back,   except with
the solution so far: Minimize an maximize the PI Window
this gets the vertical slider back.
The time between vertical slider visability and automatic(!) disappearance is usually as long
as the black popup explanation stays and disappears automatically.
Means i have the Cursor, without touching the mouse over for example the "Next Preview"
toolbar  Icon.
It does not happen all the time but trying it 3 - 5 times gets the disapperance working :P.

As an addon -
Here the two screenshots which show the desktop before and after:
Before

After, (took me this time 12 tries to get slider automatically disappering, but less than  2 minutes.`12 tries means moving the Cursor 12 times over "Next Preview" toolbar Icon)

I cannot reproduce this problem on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, that is, the scroll bar on the right border of PixInsight's main window never disappears. I don't have a Windows 7 machine at hand now, but will try.

Note however that the OP reported a completely different (actually, nonexistent) problem. The problem that is being reported here has nothing to do with maximization of the R-T preview window.

Juan, I am the original poster of this subject.  Why do you say the problem is non existent?  I have no problem with moving the preview window too high because the scroll bar appears.  But that is not the case when I click on the + sign in the upper left.  No scroll bar appears.  You may not be able to reproduce but it is very real to me.  It may be a function of my screen resolution and graphics card but it is still a problem.

Hi Larry, if I understand correctly when you maximize Real Time Preview windows it is normal behavior that the blue top bar of the preview window disappears as it happens also with an image, and it gets fixed in the workspace and fits the maximization limit.
In the top right corner you will see "Normalize" and "Close" buttons that allow you to restore the Real Time Preview normal view, to see again the blue top bar and move the window conveniently.
Saludos, Alejandro

Thanks Alejandro.  If anyone told me that previously, I totally missed it.  It is not a bug but a problem unless you know the secret.
