PixInsight stops working when i try to open a file

I just updated to window 10 and now every time i try to open a file i get PixInsight Core 1.8.4 Ripley has stopped working. if i use open with from windows explorer it will open the file. any ideals on how to fix this problem.

Are you using a Dell machine (or a machine from one of Dell's subsidiaries, such as Alienware)? In such case, see this forum post for a solution:

yes it is a dell laptop and so I put windows 7 back on the laptop and every thing is working fine. Thanks
