Blink running very slow.

I have a Dell laptop with the following :

• Intel Core processor running at 1.6 GHz
• 6 GB Ram
• Upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10
• 64-bit processor
• 365 GB free out of 689 GB for Disk

When I run the Blink process in PI [Ver 1.8] and load all my session's Lights (this can take 10 min or more!), it takes about 10-15 seconds (sometimes much more) to manually move from one image to the next for inspection.

I opened Task Manager and it shows that the Disk Usage goes to almost 100% when I click to move to the next image in Blink.  It was at about 50% before moving to next image.

Any suggestions that a 74 year old "non-computer whiz" can use to make this better?  I've been using PI for a little while, but, am just now trying the PreProcessing for the first time (have always used DSS in the past).

Problem solved! 

I originally tried to load approximately 100 RAW CR2 files into Blink and that is when the very slow operation problem occurred.

I retried today, but loaded only about 40 files into Blink and everything worked OK.  It takes my machine about 4.5 sec to load each of the original files, so, it took about 3 min to load the 40 files.  It then takes about another 1.5 sec/file when I click the Histogram button (thus, clicking the Histogram button required about 60 sec to perform the auto Histogram on the 40 files).  At that point, using the Right/Left  arrow keys to move to the Next/Previous image is almost instantaneous.

Apparently 100 images is just too many for my machine to handle all at once, but 40 was OK.  I didn't investigate further to see how many I could handle before my machine "choked up".

Hopefully this information will be helpful to someone else.
