I have a stack of 75 images covering a little over 3 hrs of integration on a region just south of the Pleiades.
I want to form an integrated image showing the astroids as trailed images against a fixed background of stars. The only way I can see how to do that is by making a Maximum integration to avoid deleting the asteroids from each frame as outliers. But that obviates the SNR improvement from averaging or median processing.
Is there some uncommon better method for doing this?
