Unable to download repository information
« on: 2015 December 15 02:08:13 »
Hi All,

Brand new Win10 Pixinsight user. Downloaded latest version just a few days ago and despite a reinstall I still see Unable to download repository information every time I launch the app. All else seems to work. I'm concerned that I won't be able to upgrade (except by logging on and downloading latest version)

Any advice?

Thanks

Paul

Also, just tried to run the benchmark script and each time it causes windows10 to crash. Don't know if its related to the repository info thing.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

This should never happen under normal conditions. Your machine has a problem with secure connections (SSL/TLS), which is not being caused by PixInsight. A common cause on Windows is a misconfigured virus protection or firewall software blocking secure connections established by the PixInsight core application.

Thanks Juan,

I managed to figure out the benchmark. Its definitely a secure connection thing. Once I unchecked the secure connection and force image download it worked fine. Benchmarks now uploaded.

Cheers
