Search Icon in Open Window
« on: 2015 November 06 00:47:29 »
Not sure if this is a bug or just that I have some how messed up a setting, but when I updated to 1185 on Linux, the options in the left hand panel of the open file box are now truncated and only shows a couple of locations, "Computer" and my personal "jim" folder.  I can add more by pulling in folders from the right screen but most importantly, the search function is now missing so I can no longer use the search shortcut to mimic the "*xx*" function in windows.

Best,

Jim

Hi Jim,

You are probably using multiplatform file dialogs. Select EDIT > Global Preferences > File I/O Settings > Use native file dialogs (enable). This will allow you to use file dialogs provided by your desktop manager (for example, GNOME or KDE), which are normally better integrated with the rest of your working environment. Multiplatform dialogs are useful when native dialogs cause problems, and also to provide a uniform experience across platforms.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks Juan.  I will give that a try and report back.

Best,

Jim
