Control bar get blocked

The control bar get blocked by the Windows task bar.

In the previous version, the PI windows was always resized to the screen height, with the bottom control bar shown above the Windows task bar.

Neither me can reduce the PI Windows height to get the control bar fit in.

It is rather inconvenient, when switching between workspaces.

Environment: Windows 7 SP1, Pixinsight 1.08.04.1170 x64

I had the same issue.  It relates to the new version's preference for higher screen resolutions which can be an issue with laptops.  Take a look at this post where Juan gave me an solution that fixed the problem for me:

The method does not work for me, but it leads me to change the font dpi to a smaller value which fix the issue.

The easy way is to say delete the script editor on the side bar and when you restart pi everything will move up

The latest version is 1.8.4.1185, where I have fixed this problem. Please *always* use the latest version. Simply run the Reset PixInsight Settings option to solve this screen issue.

As you say , new versions of Pixinsight come out very often

Unless People visit this forum regularly and spot there is a new version available , it can be easily missed  causing these sort of problems

IMO I think you should notify all users automatically when a new version is available , Ideally when you boot up pixinsight

how difficult this is to do , I do not know-- but it would make life easier for most people
