ImageIntegration error

Hello,

I am trying to integrate my bias frames but I get this error:

*** PCL Exception: PCL FITS Format Support: Unable to open FITS file:
/Users/mesone/Desktop/Bias_-20°_10.08.2015/NoTarget_10082015_-20C_600,000secs_H-alpha_Bias_00000271.fit
CFITSIO error message stack:

I tried to tweak Buffer and Stack size values but it didn't help.

My computer is a MacBook Pro Retina late 2013, with i7-4870HQ cpu and 16Gb ram.


What would I be doing wrong?

I thought it was a disk IO error, so I tried to open the file alone and it worked.

So I deleted the entire folder and copied it again from the portable disk, but the error still happens.

I have two different folders with different bias frames, one with bias acquired on 10 august and the other one acquired on 22 september.

When in ImageIntegration I load first the 10.08 folder, the error ever happens on the same file of the 22.09 folder.

If I invert and load first the 22.09 folder files, the error ever happens on the same file of the 10.08 folder.

So, maybe is there a file number limit that can be integrated at the same time?

It seems related to the number of files.

Has anyone ever loaded and averaged more than 400 files in ImageIntegration?

This is a known OSX issue. There are many posting about this and possible work arounds. Do a search within the forum for more information. I know some integrate in smaller batches and then combine.

Thanks Mike for your reply.

I was going to average 50 files per time and then the resultant 8, this time without any rejection.

As I have 201 bias from 10 august and 200 from 22 september, I want to average them all to obtain a better MasterBias.
