Supported or not, this version worked while 1.8 does not:
Cannot open more than one DSLR pic there, get "MAD cannot be calculated" error. Makes me MAD and SAD

Is this intended as a bug report? In such case I cannot reproduce it. Could you please upload the DSLR image(s) in question, so I can see if I can reproduce the problem?

hola Juan,

let`s skip the old version questions, I did not expect my machine to last so long (or outdate so fast). ::)
Will replace it sometime  :moneyinmouth:

tried the PP again with some subframes and yes, PixInsight freezes again.
The script completes normally, showing the initial surface.
Clicking that away causes "no response" error, have to kill PI via task manager.

Here the link to the created master light (242 MB, since xisf all file sizes have doubled...)
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=C77174F3399FE256!178&authkey=!AOG0oFBIZUGrNRU&ithint=file%2cxisf

here the saved PP icon:

one more observation:
Info bar at bottom doesn't show up, even when hook is set freshly. Have to make window small and expand to max again,
then it is there. When executing an operation like clicking STF, it vanishes again.
Making is smaller and maximizing brings it up again. Interestingly, minimizing does not.

thank you for taking care!  :smiley:

I cannot reproduce this problem with 1.8.4.1171 on Linux, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Can you upload a minimal data set where BPP has this behavior on your machine?

I can open this image (Cygnus Milkyway) without problems with 1.8.4.1171 on any platform. I can also apply STF AutoStretch without any problems, and process it with any tool without any errors.

Your image has the following geometry:

width = 5496 px
height = 3670 px
Three channels (RGB color space)

Since this is a 32-bit floating point image, we have:

5496x3670x3x4 = 242043840 bytes = 242.044 MB = 230.831 MiB

Your "light-BINNING_1.xisf" file is 242052032 bytes = 230.839 MiB

So, why do you say that XISF duplicates file sizes?

dear Juan,

I also can open the master light. Just right after the BPP has finished, and I click to exit it Pix Insight freezes.
Need to kill it, open new instance, then I can open the master file normally.

As apparently I am the only one to have this problem, probably something is interfering in my machine.
I just will step back temporarily to the previous version that worked fine for me.

Double size xisf: My error - sorry!
I noticed that with my G2-8300 fits, they are 17.038.080 and the xisf files generated from them are 34.071.744 bytes.
But now I checked back, when PI used fits format, the generated files also were double. So no difference!
