Transparency
« on: 2015 August 04 11:27:26 »
Following yesterday's upgrade I have lost Transparency and cannot find out to put it back.  I have temporarily reloaded the old version to check the settings and they match so I don't know where to go from here.  Can anybody help?

Thanks

Same problem here.  I suggest you post in the Bug Report section.

Could you tell us more details about your systems? I tested PI under Win8 and Fedora, and transparencies work fine over there.

I am trying to reproduce this with build 1171 without success. Transparencies are always rendered perfectly in all visualization modes. See the attached screenshot on Windows 7. Are you talking about image transparency (alpha channels), or do you refer to something else?

I am referring to when you move an image over another to see through to the lower image.  This was fine on the previous version.  Win 7 64 bit.

Then there is no bug at all. This option is disabled by default. To enable it:

- EDIT > Global Preferences
- Preferences > Special GUI Effects
- Enable the translucent workspace child windows option
- Click Apply Global or press F6

This option is disabled by default because in previous versions it caused problems on many Windows 8 installations, and in a few cases also on Windows 7. For sanity, I have decided to keep it disabled by default also in version 1.8.4. Turn it on and, if it doesn't give you screen rendering problems, keep it that way.

Thanks.  I just tried that before you posted and it does the trick.  Sorry for the unnecessary messaging traffic.
