If you put a number into the highlights box abd firget ti take the 1 out of the number so you get a number greater than 1 you get a warning message AND you can no longer see the cursor on the screen.  Requires you to shut down the program.  Jack Harvey

Seems that you have been quite busy playing with PI ;-)

Could you explain a little further how you ended with that problem? I was unable to repeat it... Please describe us your computer and operating system, along with "all" the steps you made before the bug arrised. Does it happen every time, or just one time?

Using a Dell Dual COre computer with Windows XP and a friend Jimmy Thibert also with a dual core was able to repeat it.  I got it by manually entering a number into the highlights section of Histogram that was greater than 1.  ie 1.02452 for example, and of course did this accidentally as that # should always be less than 1.  I got a warning message telling me that that # cannot exceed 1 but at that time I could no longer see the cursor on the Pixi screen.  COuld see it on other parts of my screen so opened task mgr and shut down Pixi and re opened without problem.

Ok. Thanks Jack. The lasts questions to clarify this a little further: Have you installed any of the service packs? Is in your PI directory a .manifest file?

It seems to me a Windows issue (I'm running PI right now at W98, and cannot see that problem), but can be wrong. Lets see what Juan has to say. =)

Hello Jack and Carlos,

This is a really odd problem. I have been unable to reproduce it on any of my machines running XP SP1 and SP2, and Win2K SP4. However I don't have a dual core processor, although I don't think this can make a significant difference.

I have a question for Jack: are you using a wireless keyboard and/or mouse in your computer? If yes, then this could be the origin of the problem. It is amazing how many and how odd problems a wireless device is able to generate. If this is the case, could you try PI with a wired mouse and keyboard to see if the problem disappears?

BTW, are them connected throught a USB port? I have some problems with a wired USB mouse when running some games.
