Combined MMT and ATWT Tool Status
« on: 2015 April 15 14:13:31 »
What is the status of a new smoothing tool discussed in a thread from January 2012?

Juan said:   "The next multiscale processing tool, on which we are working now, implements a hybrid approach: the wavelet-median transform. The idea is to apply each transform where it is stronger: MMT to isolate significant structures at small scales and ATWT on smooth areas. I hope this will be another step forward."

Is this still a possibility?

Hi Larry,

The median-wavelet transform is already available in the MultiscaleMedianTransform tool since more than one year. Click the Algorithm combo box at the top of this tool to select either the MMT (enabled by default) or the MWT algorithm.

Thanks for the reply, Juan.  Being a newcomer to PI, I was not aware of the history.
