A full disk solar Ha processing example
« on: 2011 June 07 12:08:22 »
Hi,

First, I would like to introduce myself, since this is my very first topic. I'm Manuel, from Spain, some of you may know me from another forums (or hate me). My equipment is a Lunt 80 and a CDK17 / Paramount ME / FLI 16803, that will see it's first light soon (I hope).

I have done a small tutorial of how I process my solar full disk. I hope you enjoy it, and if you have any comments, please ask!.

Regards,
Manuel.

This is really great! Can't wait to give it a try. Giant flare on the Sun today.
Best,

For those who don't have Fotochop, you could also do the coloring thing in PI by converting the image to RGB color and in the HistogramTransformation tool move the R midtones to the left and the B midtones to the right.

Hey Manuel,

Thanks a lot for this tutorial!  I've got a long way to go to get to your standards but I have processed my very first solar image using your tutorial for guidance.  Unfortunately there was not a lot going on with the Sun when I shot this but I needed some data to practice on so I just shot when the sky was clear.

Entirely processed with AviStack and PixInsight.  Used RBA's colorization suggestion.  Full details here,

Hi,

Wow, that's a very nice one!. The Sun seems a bit washed out lately.

Regards,
Manuel.
