I knew the stock Intel cooler was rubbish, but I didn't realise just how much it was throttling the CPU under load. I use a mild over-clock (all I could manage on the stock cooler) and recorded scores of 5778 and 5801. Today I fitted a Corsair CPU cooler (water cooler, H801) and using the same settings the score jumped to 8037. I have not even started to re-do the overclock yet but the difference is already stunning.
