Background selection
« on: 2014 August 27 15:15:55 »
I'm currently working on an image of The Crescent Nebula and I have to tell you it crammed full of stars. When trying to pick a background void of stars and all you can get is a very small preview window even when the image is zoomed 3:1, is there an alternative. In this case the background is almost all stars!

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

In those cases, I usually select several small previews and merge them. This processing example shows it in background neutralization

Saludos, Alejandro.

Great answer and I never would have thought of it. I do use an aggregated view most often when color calibrating non-galaxy images and just didn't think of using this way.

Thanks for opening my eyes!
