This is a two hour LRGB imaged with an FLI and a Planewave VDK 20 from Australia.

Hello Albert,

Beautiful image, especially when viewed at large resolution. The colors are beautiful to my eye and the stars perfect. Are you using one of iTelescope's instruments? If so, which one? I sometimes use their New Mexico scopes but have not done any down under imaging, which I really should try soon.

Again, you have produced an exceptional image. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Dave. Appreciate the remark. Yes I used Itelescopes.net in Australia, T30. Amazing setup but you get horrific blooms on brighter stars which you have to deal with. I love Australia because there are obviously a lot of amazing targets that we can't see in the northern hemisphere. I chose Australia for M20 because it was nearly at Zenith when I imaged it. I live in Phoenix and it's pretty low in the sky here when it gets dark.

Thanks again

Albert

How do you deal with the blooms in PI? It seems like I have seen several threads on the subject in the past.

I don't. I had to use Maxim's deblooming tool which works ok. It does add some noise where the bloom was which can be pretty much eliminated by noise reduction.
