European PixInsight Conference 2014

Hi all,

One week ago we announced the first European PixInsight Conference (EPIC). People is registering quickly and we have only 10 places left.

The first European PixInsight Conference will take place in Munich, Germany, on next October 31st to November 2nd. This year, Carlos Milovic and me will be both teaching in the workshop.

We are also introducing some important innovations in our teaching methodology, like the flow charts, which will help you in your image processing work at home, and three specific workshop levels to meet the needs of all the people. For further details please visit the workshop's webpage:

Our aim is to create a yearly meeting point for the European PixInsight community in Munich, so we'll be developing the EPIC with new contents and activities from now on.

This workshop is being sponsored by Astrosysteme Austria (ASA) and the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Valencia.

Hi Vincent,

I would have liked to go to this conference but a week before I received the info I had already booked something else for the same weekend.
If this is going to be an annual event, perhaps the date and venue could be released earlier. It is also cheaper to book flights the earlier the venue/date info is given to us.

Hi John,

Thank you for your interest. Yes, I know that the agenda for this year's workshop is pretty thight, but due to some personal circumstances it was impossible to me to organize the event earlier. In fact, we delayed the event one month, last year we did the workshop early October. On the other hand, we found the Leonardo hotel, which seems very fine for our workshop. It will be much easier to plan the event if we repeat hotel next year.

I have found the workshop very interesting, learned lots of things and tricks every day.
I came back home with many ideas..I think I will have to rework some of my pictures:-)

Hi all,

Well, the EPIC was just great. Thank you all for coming to Munich, we had a beautiful weekend all together. I put here some additional pics (I'm sorry but I haven't any picture while I was giving the workshop):

Next year we want to introduce important new activities to the EPIC. I already announce that we will be accepting, during a limited time, registrations to give talks at the conference. Therefore, one afternoon will be dedicated to user talks about their own techniques / advancements in astrophotography based on PixInsight. We are also thinking about the possibility to organize a PixInsight developer workshop.

Our key goal is to establish the EPIC as a yearly meeting point for all the people who are passionate about astrophotography and understand it through image processing and PixInsight.
